Despite the weather report, it
was a beautiful day to take a drive out Skyline Blvd. It was cold but we
had sunshine. We stopped a couple of times to draw cards for a poker hand.
There were prizes for the best hand---and the youngest member of the tour
won (Keith's technician who drives an old VW Beatle)! Bob & Donna came in
second. Near Rocky Point Road we saw snow and the road was graveled but
clear. A couple of cars got squirrelly. The route dropped down to Highway
30 and we proceeded to Scappoose. There is an amazing, authentic Hawaiian
restaurant near the airport. Jim & Peggy discovered it while flying with
John Polos. We had a great late lunch/early dinner. And the field across
the street was home to two llamas. This was an amazing tour to start off
the year. Our thanks to Jim and Peggy Oliver for organizing it.
