Cecil Kimber Party

Keith Ansell’s shop was full of people eating good food, taking a quirky quiz, ogling the MGA on display, and laughing a lot. We seem to do potlucks really well. Parking was not so bad as in earlier years. Maybe we are just learning the most efficient pattern to let everyone in and out the best. If you missed it, you can try for next year.

Ladies Tea

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of High Tea and conversation.  It was our largest group ever with 16 ladies attending, five for the first time!  The menu included some of our traditional favorites - cucumber sandwiches, scones and lemon tarts - as well as both salmon and egg salad sandwiches, fresh fruit and lavender brownies.  Lots of tea and talk!  We pass around the "talking points" and everyone has a chance to tell the group about themselves, family/career, pets/hobbies, and books being read.  It's a lively sharing time and helps us know one another better when we meet at future club events.  BIG thanks to Donna McNabb for coming early and helping with the final preparation.  John had to work that day and he hated to miss getting the last things finished up as well as taking our picture!  It's a pleasure to present this event - be sure to get it on your calendar next year!

New Years Day Run

Wonderful show of 15 cars at 1:00 pm on Saturday: a Jaguar, a Miata, a Jeep, a Lexus, MGA’s and MGB’s one with the top down! The route took us all around the city—out Marine Drive and over the St. Johns bridge-out highway 30 and up Newberry road.  Following Skyline to the south all the way to Scholls Ferry Road and on to Garden Home Road. We saw a tow truck and the police help a car on it’s side. Next we went down to Multnomah Blvd., over to Terwilliger, down Taylors Ferry Road to Macadam and then over the Sellwood Bridge.  From there we went out Tacoma to Johnson Creek Blvd. to 92nd Avenue and Mt. Scott.  Turning north again on King Road and out Foster Road, turning on 148th.  following all the way out to Marine Drive.  As we passed the airport the clear blue sky had wisps of light clouds. We returned to Jantzen Beach and stopped at BJ’s for a delicious dinner and friendship.  I did not realize that it took 3 hours to go 65 miles – what a great ride!!!!!!  Thanks, Donna and Bob.
